Requirements:
Students must be 3rd or 4th year electrical apprentices or Journeyman Electricians
Students must have a basic understanding of computer terminology and basic computer use (i.e. personal computer at home with use of the Internet)

This course will focus on the industry standard and functional building blocks of structured wiring systems used in commercial buildings for voice and data applications. Practical hands-on exercises will familiarize students with making and testing of network cables. Upon completion of this course the students will have a firm grasp of building wiring systems.

The course material will provide information on the specific details for the installation, termination and testing of high performance category 5e cabling systems. Testing and certification of these installations will be completed in Part II of this course.

This is a 24 hour long course. We have run three classes so far this year and may decide to run more depending in circumstances. This course is taken at NAIT.
