Unloading and positioning large motors requires hoisting and rigging skills

 

This course has been designed specifically for personnel who are required to assist in the placement of heavy electrical machinery and controls. The objective of this instruction is the safe and efficient use of rigging materials and hoisting
equipment. Course content includes:

  • industrial hand signals,
  • estimating weights,
  • determining center of gravity,
  • impact loading,
  • fiber and synthetic ropes, knots,
  • wire ropes,
  • hooks, shackles and slings.
    NOTE: a calculator is required.


  • This is a 24 Hour Course.
  • Weeknight courses take place from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm with Saturdays from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm.
  • Daytime courses run 9:00 am to 3:30 pm on three consecutive days.
  • Please Note: There is a maximum class limit of 16.
  • The number of people registered in each class (in brackets) will be updated approximately twice a week. Check with office staff for exact numbers.
  • There is a quick guide to the math needed for the class for those taking it.
